Green Initiatives
Our business purpose is to provide the community with an
efficient, environmentally-friendly recycling process. In line with
that mission is a goal to equip ourselves with the most energy
efficient and conservation-minded products to help reduce our
footprint. Here are a few ways we are doing more by using less:

efficient and conservation-minded products to help reduce our
footprint. Here are a few ways we are doing more by using less:
- Rail--Railcars travel an average of 423 miles on one gallon
of diesel, an amazingly efficient process for moving
metal. Sahd Salvage has invested in the environment by
moving scrap by rail when possible. A load of steel has
the ability to take 4 trucks off the road!
- Solar Power--Sahd Salvage has invested in solar panels to
harness the power of the sun to take us off the
electrical grid! Our 31 KW system is designed to feed
power back to the utility when we aren't using it!
